Images and emotional meaning

Berman distinguishes making many beautiful images from producing work that resonates. He emphasizes a human perspective and audience response.

Human taste and creativity are more important than ever. Creating a million beautiful images does not mean a million images will resonate emotionally with other people. I believe that to understand whether a piece of art is meaningful, you need to share it, see how people respond and bring a human perspective to the act of creating it.

Imagining the next game

He uses Mario and Elden Ring to contrast mixing existing elements with inventing a compelling story and game.

You can put Mario into Elden Ring, but what about the next Mario or the next Elden Ring? In my view, human creativity is still needed to imagine a compelling story and a game that is fun to play.
