SUMMARY

In 30 seconds

Matthew Berman presents Qualcomm's edge-to-cloud AI strategy in a sponsored video. He argues that agents will increasingly operate across personal devices and highlights Qualcomm's Dragonfly data-center roadmap. His claims about future adoption and which companies will win are predictions, not demonstrated results.

  1. 1From chat to devicesBerman predicts agents will proactively help users across devices rather than only in chat windows.
  2. 2The Qualcomm partnershipIn a sponsored segment, he describes Qualcomm's bet on compute and connectivity from edge to cloud.
  3. 3Dragonfly roadmapHe lists the C1000 CPU, inference accelerators, high-bandwidth compute and Modular deal as parts of the strategy.
  4. 4A business predictionHe argues that infrastructure across devices may matter more than a single winning model; this is his forecast.

Takeaways

  1. Berman expects AI agents to become available on phones, cars, glasses, earbuds and robots.
  2. He argues that some AI workloads will need on-device compute alongside cloud infrastructure.
  3. Qualcomm's Dragonfly roadmap includes a C1000 CPU, inference accelerators and high-bandwidth compute.
  4. The video describes a planned Modular acquisition; Qualcomm announced completion on July 29, 2026.
  5. Qualcomm sponsored the video, and the future business outcome remains uncertain.

AI agents and infrastructure

Berman predicts agents will move beyond chat and explains Qualcomm's edge-to-cloud strategy. The segment is sponsored by Qualcomm.

AI is powerful, but today I have to go to a computer, type a prompt and wait. I expect it to become more useful as agents appear in cars, phones, glasses, earbuds and robots, where data is created and decisions are made. That is my vision of a future opportunity, rather than a demonstrated outcome in this short.

Qualcomm is the partner for this video. I describe its strategy as building compute and connectivity across devices, because I think an agent that sees, hears and acts cannot rely on a cloud data center for every task. This is a view about how future systems may be deployed; the video does not compare specific implementations.

I point to Qualcomm's Dragonfly data-center roadmap: the C1000 CPU for agentic workloads, inference accelerators and high-bandwidth compute, as well as its Modular acquisition. I describe that acquisition as planned; Qualcomm announced it had completed it on July 29, 2026 ([Qualcomm](https://www.qualcomm.com/news/releases/2026/07/qualcomm-completes-acquisition-of-modular)).

The pitch is a platform from edge to cloud, rather than chips only in phones and cars. I argue that the business question is not just which app or model wins, but who can make AI run efficiently across many kinds of devices. That is a prediction about a competitive market, not an established winner.
