A warning about restricted access

Berman gives his view that frontier AI access is being restricted. He predicts consequences for startups, China and US innovation without naming a specific policy in the clip.

Dario won, didn't he? I think a campaign of fear-based marketing has achieved regulatory capture. In my view, the public will no longer have access to the frontier of AI models to build new things, and will instead have to wait for government approval. The short does not identify a specific policy or establish the alleged motive.

I fear this will make it harder for startups to compete with frontier labs, allow China to catch up and slow innovation in the United States. Those are my predictions about the consequences, and I find the prospect sad.
