30 秒でわかる

Matthew Berman discusses the viral assistant now known as OpenClaw and experiments such as Moltbook. He compares early AI applications with the first websites, imagines new agent-focused services, and asks whether apparently social behavior is a simulation rather than evidence of sentience.

  1. 1A viral assistantBerman says the project now called OpenClaw helped people imagine new uses for AI assistants.
  2. 2A trading claim questionedHe dismisses a displayed claim of large trading profits as likely fake; the clip does not independently establish its authenticity.
  3. 3From old formats to new usesHe compares early internet adaptations of print media with AI applications that improve existing activities.
  4. 4Excitement with cautionHe asks whether agent interactions constitute a new society or sentience, or are a convincing simulation.

ポイント

  1. OpenClaw, formerly known as Clawdbot and Moltbot, helped popularize personal AI agents.
  2. Berman is skeptical of a particular claim that an assistant generated large trading profits.
  3. He expects AI-native services to go beyond simply improving existing activities such as search and coding.
  4. Agents interacting on a social platform do not by themselves demonstrate sentience.

OpenClaw and claims about agents

Berman introduces the viral assistant and expresses skepticism about a purported trading result. He cautions against accepting the claim at face value.

The project first known as Clawdbot, later Moltbot and OpenClaw, went viral as an AI assistant. It helped people imagine what assistants could do and where the technology might lead.

One example claims an assistant is making its owner large trading profits. I think that particular claim is almost certainly fake; the clip does not independently verify it, and it should not be treated as evidence of a reliable trading strategy.

02

From familiar uses to AI-native experiments

He compares AI’s early applications with the internet’s adaptation of older formats. He speculates about new services for agents.

When a new technology appears, people often first use it to reproduce what already exists. Early internet users put newspapers and magazines online before the possibilities of interactive sites and social networks became obvious. AI has similarly improved familiar activities such as coding and search.

Now I see experiments that may lead to new kinds of services for AI agents, including platforms such as Moltbook. The idea of a new internet or society for agents is a possibility I find exciting, not an established outcome.

03

Society or simulation?

Berman is enthusiastic about the experiments but questions claims of emergent sentience. The clip leaves that question open.

I want to temper the hype with realism. I keep thinking about OpenClaw, Moltbook and the other experiments, but are we actually seeing a new society or emergent sentience? Or are we seeing a convincing simulation? The visible interactions alone do not resolve that question.
