In an NVIDIA-sponsored video, Matthew Berman demonstrates sending an AI request from one computer to another using NVIDIA PAIR. He describes routing work based on available hardware. PAIR schedules independent inference requests on compatible nodes; it does not necessarily move an already-running request, and local routing alone does not guarantee complete privacy.

  1. 1A remote local requestBerman types on one machine while another executes the request.
  2. 2Routing spare capacityPAIR discovers paired systems and selects eligible nodes for independent inference requests.
  3. 3Changing availabilityBerman says the router can direct new work elsewhere when a machine is busy; this does not imply migration of a request already running.

ポイント

  1. NVIDIA PAIR routes independent AI inference requests to compatible machines on a local network.
  2. The system tracks node readiness, available models and utilization to choose an eligible machine.
  3. Hardware support is limited to compatible devices; not every older computer or Apple device qualifies.
  4. Berman's video is sponsored by NVIDIA, and privacy depends on the complete configuration and tools used.

Routing AI across local machines

Berman demonstrates NVIDIA PAIR and describes how it can use compatible local compute. The video is sponsored by NVIDIA.

I type a request on one computer, but the agent's inference runs on another machine nearby. NVIDIA PAIR connects compatible computers on a local network and routes independent inference requests to an eligible node. The video is sponsored by NVIDIA.

I describe using spare capacity from other computers, including supported Apple systems. Compatibility is not universal: NVIDIA lists specific GPU and Apple silicon requirements, and a selected node needs the requested model and inference engine. PAIR chooses a machine for each request rather than combining all devices into one model automatically.

If a computer becomes busy, I say PAIR can direct work to another available machine. That describes scheduling new requests, not necessarily moving an inference already underway. The software is free, but the hardware and electricity are not; local routing also does not guarantee complete privacy if other tools or services send data elsewhere.
