要約

30 秒でわかる

Matthew Berman introduces excerpts from OpenAI’s 2024 spring demonstrations. One shows an assistant being asked to translate a conversation; another shows it tutoring a student on the sides of a right triangle. The short is a selected demonstration rather than a broad evaluation.

  1. 1A spring demonstrationBerman introduces OpenAI’s voice assistant examples from 2024.
  2. 2Conversational translationA demonstrator asks ChatGPT to translate between coworkers.
  3. 3Triangle tutoringThe assistant guides a student through the triangle and corrects an incorrect side identification.

ポイント

  1. The first excerpt shows a request for conversational translation.
  2. The second shows an assistant asking a student to identify triangle sides relative to an angle.
  3. When the student guesses AC is the hypotenuse, the assistant identifies it as the adjacent side.
  4. These selected clips do not establish performance across all translation or tutoring situations.

Translation between coworkers

Berman introduces the voice demos. A demonstrator asks the assistant to translate a conversation.

OpenAI recently held its spring updates event, and I’m impressed by some of the voice assistant demonstrations. In one excerpt, a person asks ChatGPT to act as a translator between coworkers. The exchange begins with a question about how the other person has been and a response about preparing for an event.

Guidance on a triangle

The assistant asks a student about triangle sides relative to an angle. It identifies AC as the adjacent side after the student’s uncertain guess.

In another excerpt, the assistant asks a student to identify the opposite side, adjacent side and hypotenuse relative to angle alpha in a triangle. After confirming the angle, it asks the student to choose the hypotenuse. The student tentatively points to AC; the assistant says AC is the adjacent side. This excerpt is a demonstration, not a comprehensive test of tutoring accuracy.
