30 秒でわかる

In a July 2026 short, Berman argues that Anthropic’s earlier compute investment may constrain how it serves its models, while OpenAI’s subscription access could appeal to users. He then speculates that future self-improvement could change the competitive picture; the video does not substantiate its broad revenue and model-size claims.

  1. 1The compute argumentBerman argues that earlier infrastructure choices may constrain Anthropic’s ability to serve a large model.
  2. 2Subscription accessHe contrasts the access levels he describes from OpenAI and Anthropic at the time.
  3. 3A possible futureHe speculates about whether recursive model improvement could overcome a current distribution disadvantage.

ポイント

  1. Berman attributes a potential serving constraint to earlier compute investment, but the video does not document that causal claim.
  2. He considers access limits and model efficiency alongside quality when choosing a subscription.
  3. His comments about recursive self-improvement are speculation, not a demonstrated outcome.
  4. Subscription features, quotas and model performance are time-dependent.

Capacity and access

Berman claims that Anthropic’s earlier compute decisions constrain its model serving. He contrasts access with OpenAI’s subscription offerings.

I argue that Anthropic’s compute capacity is a potential weakness in its competition with OpenAI. I attribute it to a decision by Dario Amodei to invest conservatively in GPUs two years earlier. The short provides no evidence establishing the decision, its causes or its impact, and my opening claims about revenue and model size are not independently supported here.

I contrast the subscription access and usage limits I describe for OpenAI with uncertainty I see about whether Anthropic’s Fable would be included in its subscription. Access terms and quotas can change, and the video does not establish a definitive plan for Fable.

I interpret a Sam Altman post as a dig at Anthropic’s customer experience. I consider GPT-5.6 Sol a strong and more efficient alternative, and at the time recommend ChatGPT to someone choosing one subscription. That is my personal judgment based on the offerings I describe, not a timeless comparison.

02

Subscriber choice and the future

He gives his historical preference for ChatGPT and considers whether future model self-improvement could change the contest.

Does a capacity disadvantage mean Anthropic will lose? Not necessarily, in my view. I speculate that a sufficiently capable model might help improve future models and extend its lead. The clip offers no evidence that this recursive improvement has occurred or will determine the outcome.
