The Cursor decision and Astra
Theo reads the partnership announcement and offers his interpretation of the motivation. He connects it to concern about distillation of Astra.

OpenAI says it is ending its partnership with Cursor following Cursor’s acquisition by SpaceX. I do not think this is about some separate new development in the OpenAI–Cursor relationship.
My interpretation is that Astra is capable enough for OpenAI to worry about distillation, and that it is restricting access under existing contracts for companies it considers noncompliant with its terms. The short clip does not independently establish that this is the reason for the decision.
