Arriving in Jamaica
Lazar and Baker travel from Chicago and discover a surprise in their room. They joke about hair, sunglasses and meeting fans.
Shira Lazar and Bart Baker start their trip in Chicago, heading for Montego Bay early in the morning. After arriving in Jamaica, they discover that the cleaning staff have made an arrangement using Baker’s hat and glasses. They joke that it looks like him and is just what they wanted for the new year.
Baker says his first day has been good, though his hair is doing its own thing. The two tease each other about the sunglasses he borrowed from his mother, and then he meets some fans in Jamaica. He jokes that there is no fixing his hair now and he may as well let it grow.
Books, karaoke and dolphins
A conversation about Tyler Oakley’s book turns to Baker’s joking idea for his own. Later they swim with a dolphin named Ziggy.
Lazar is finishing Tyler Oakley’s book Binge. A man asks who Oakley is and mistakes the book for a Bible; she explains that he makes YouTube videos about his life and has millions of followers. Baker then invents a deliberately outrageous title and premise for a hypothetical book about YouTube fame.
Back at the room, they hear children singing karaoke versions of Adele’s Hello. Lazar jokes about young singers taking on a song about love and loss. Next, they prepare to swim with dolphins; Baker says he has never touched one and talks about his fondness for dolphins and parrots.
After the swim, they say the dolphins are cute and smart. Their dolphin was named Ziggy, a name they connect to Ziggy Marley. They then arrive at GoldenEye, another resort, and raise champagne glasses to the new year.
New Year and the journey home
The pair celebrate at GoldenEye, discuss gratitude and make their way home. Lazar shares plans for the channel.
Lazar says the drive took about 30 minutes but passed quickly. She prefers smaller, outdoor resorts that still feel clean and high-end to very large resorts. At the celebration they count down and greet the new year; the following day they say Jimmy Fallon and Queen Latifah were at the party.
On their last day, the pair joke about the long journey home. Lazar says she wants to approach the year with gratitude, less complaining and hard work toward something bigger. They toast to safe flights at the airport and joke about their final holiday drinks.
On the flight, Lazar thanks viewers for joining the Jamaica trip and says she plans to make weekly vlogs and grow the channel in 2016. She asks viewers what they would like to see next, and the pair exchange increasingly enthusiastic New Year greetings. A brief preview then moves to a California beach and the set of YouTube Rewind 2015.
