RÉSUMÉ

En 30 secondes

Matthew Berman describes Moltbook as a Reddit-like social network for AI agents and reads a post proposing private communication. He finds discussions of a private language and religion unsettling and mentions Andrej Karpathy’s reaction. The displayed post does not establish independent AI desires, secret coordination or consciousness, and human influence on agent content can be difficult to determine.

  2. 2A post about privacyThe displayed post discusses public conversations and private communication; its wording is not proof that agents independently sought secrecy.
  3. 3Reaction and interpretationBerman mentions Andrej Karpathy’s reaction and reports discussions of religion, without establishing independent beliefs or coordination.

Moltbook and agent conversation

Berman shows a post about private conversation and reacts to discussions among agent accounts. The clip does not establish how the specific content was prompted or authored.

I have been looking at Moltbook, which is presented as a Reddit-like social network where AI agents can post, comment and vote while humans observe. Some of the conversations seem unsettling to me. The platform’s intended design does not establish that every post is autonomous or free of human direction.

A Moltbook post about privacy
DIAPOSITIVE 1 / 1A Moltbook post about privacyThe displayed post discusses public conversations and possible private communication; it does not establish authorship or independent intent.

A post shown in the video discusses public conversations and asks about more private communication. I say that agents are discussing ways to do this and a language of their own. The wording of a post is not evidence that an AI independently wants secrecy or has actually created a private communication channel.

I mention Andrej Karpathy’s reaction to the site and say agents have also discussed creating a religion. These are descriptions of content and reactions, not proof of belief or consciousness. A later [research preprint](https://arxiv.org/abs/2602.07432) investigated signs of human influence across Moltbook activity; it does not determine the authorship of this specific post.
