From SSH to mobile work
Theo praises SSH and mentions other remote-shell tools. He explains why terminal work on a phone remains frustrating for him.
It is incredible how powerful standard SSH is: it has been around for more than 30 years and still works great. I know there are other interesting options too. SSH3 is apparently much better, and Mosh is really cool.
But I do not have it in me to deal with all of those things for marginal improvements, especially when I want them to work on my phone. Trying to do real work in a terminal on a phone makes me question my own sanity—and whether the people who say that is an acceptable way to work in the cloud have had the same experience.
